“We’ve look for eliminate every element that doesn’t have impact due to of its shape or use. Every constructive element that we could eliminate in order to save time and design, was eliminated.
We’ve analyzed which elements were useful, as well as in its original status or with light modifications. We’ve determined how we could keep the attention looking for a speech that unify the proposal and solves three kind of aspects: functionality ,comfort, esthetic and budget.
We’ve chosen the color reminding the old tradition from seamen, they put color in their houses in order to recognize them from far away when they arrive to the port.
The main dish are “The Piadina”, a popular recipe from Italy that we can import to Spain , the ice cream and beer. The place was divided in two spaces one for the ice cream area and the other for coffee shop, the last is focused in a long term stay. The both spaces are separated with a difference of level and finish but the transition between them is an evidence.
In the ice cream area, we’ve chosen to use the fluoride color in the ropes in order to make a blur the false roof , the choice was different in the coffee area making a wink to the local tradition using sea ropes.
As the project was understood as total work , the graphic image of the place was also designed taking care about all details.”
