Stratification of time into the “skin ” of the building , hidden inside a contemporary open plan whose spatial characteristics , a sign of the present age , are isolated from the temporal architecture capable of dialoguing with the past. The old town of Faenza (Italy)is the landscape of the residence for a young and dynamic family, work study pinoni + lazzarini architects , which follows the artistic direction and interior design .
The material on which they operate , in the loft of a nineteenth century building , is a barren environment , devoid of distinguishing features but nevertheless retained a certain purity of space. For this reason , the choice has been to emphasize the loft interior , partly already present, to recover formally interesting areas , generating interactions able to differentiate the use of space , with views on the areas below. The environments of the upper and lower are conceived therefore as a single space , thanks to the presence of the railing glass that does not create a perceptual limit towards the underlying area .
The articulation of paths allows a total usability , also between the two levels , as well as perceptual also physical . A sensitivity to materials , placed in juxtaposition monolithic surfaces treated in concrete elements in natural wood , making tradition and contemporaneity . The reinforced concrete loses classic connotation of structurally supporting material and becomes the predominant element furnishings. A concrete surface suspended , through all the rooms of the house , from the living area to the sleeping area , highlighting the structural characteristics becoming way to the kitchen, fireplace and headboard of the bed , tying together any living space . Classic design , complete these environments , on contemporary mood. The research project is complete and involves every detail, hidden within the walls of the historic city center, which reflects a current and authentic living.
